What to wear guide

Want to make the most of your session?  The outfits you wear can make or break having great images. Trust me.  These are very special images that will honor this time in your life and live on forever.  It is worth the extra effort you take to put together some fabulous outfits that really show off your personality.

Accessories are a huge part of putting a look together.  Putting together everything with hats, jewelry, shoes and other accessories will make the outfit come together.  I have several items that clients can borrow for sessions - all you have to do is ask!

Take a peek below at the following styled looks for inspiration.  Included with each is a description and a shopping guide.

Have fun and I look forward to seeing you rocking your looks soon!!!

It is so important that you choose clothes that look, fit, and feel great.  Use the ideas above as a guideline for what to wear.

The clothes that are most flattering are form fitting with sleeves.  Feel free to bring what you like... but also add some of the suggestions below:

Bring a variety of choices.  Include different seasons.

Layers are awesome.  Think layers and textures!

Solids are ALWAYS a great choice.  Smaller patterns are fine too.  neutrals, soft colors, darker tones and earthy colors work best.  Hat, serves, jewelry, flowers, guitars, balloons, cool shoes etc are great accessories.  Get creative and make these really personal.  Let's talk undergarments!  Girls... make SURE you bring appropriate underthings for each outfit!  Be sure to try on your outfits before your session.

Don't assume that if it's trendy, it will look great in a photo.  Wild patterns, fluorescent colors, and loud patterns are NOT a good choice.

Many of you bring bold striped shirts and skirts to sessions because in real life they look amazing.  In portraits, however, it is VERY distracting. It can be appropriate by water for a nautical look, but it's best to bring in smaller smaller and softer stripes.

Avoid very short skirts and shorts as you will be very limited in your poses.  Be mindful and wear appropriate necklines.

IRON your clothes.  Wrinkles will show in your portraits so take the time to iron them.  Don't pull your clothes out of a backpack.

Wear clothes that flatter your figure.  Flowy tops and dresses are adorable but do nothing to gibe you shape and will only make you look larger than you are (who wants that?!).
